Protecting Indonesia’s Biodiversity Through Science-Based Conservation
Enviiro is a conservation organization dedicated to protecting endemic and threatened species and their habitats through research, conservation planning, and collaborative action.
Why It Matters
Protecting biodiversity begins with understanding the challenges facing ecosystems today.
Indonesia is home to some of the world’s most remarkable biodiversity, including thousands of endemic species found nowhere else on Earth.
Yet many ecosystems continue to face increasing pressure from land conversion, habitat degradation, and landscape fragmentation.
Among the most vulnerable are the peat swamp ecosystems of Sumatra, which support unique wildlife, store vast amounts of carbon, and provide critical ecological services.
Through research, monitoring, and conservation planning, Enviiro works to transform scientific knowledge into meaningful conservation action.

Who We Are
Building science-based solutions for biodiversity conservation.
Science
Research-driven conservation decisions.
Integrity
Commitment to scientific and ethical standards.
Collaboration
Working with communities, researchers, and partners.
Impact
Creating measurable outcomes for biodiversity.
Enviiro emerged from the Black Water Project, an initiative established in 2024 to address the growing threats facing Indonesia’s peat swamp ecosystems and biodiversity.
Founded on the principle that effective conservation must be guided by evidence, Enviiro integrates scientific research, ecological monitoring, and conservation planning to support the protection of endemic, native, and threatened species.
Our current focus is the Sumatran peat swamp ecosystem, one of Indonesia’s most important ecological landscapes, where increasing habitat loss and degradation continue to challenge biodiversity conservation efforts.
Through research, collaboration, and community engagement, Enviiro aims to transform scientific knowledge into practical conservation action.
